As a junior at the University of Chicago en route to medical school, Nancy Kasvosve is currently studying specializations of Genetics and Public Health in her major of Biology and Public Policy. Nancy has a future research interest in the association of Genetics and Virology in HIV/AIDS. She sees the National ASA as an opportunity for young Africans to tell their own stories and become actively involved in shaping their future as decision-makers for our homes as academics, professionals and otherwise, in the midst of a changing and advancing world. Nancy believes that as young African intellectuals, we must take it upon ourselves to build the dreams that fellow Africans have not been afforded for so long. She aspires to take her medical education and HIV/AIDS research expertise back to Southern Africa to join the combat against the HIV/AIDS pandemic that she grew up seeing ravage her home country Zimbabwe. Nancy stands by the motto “We can be the change we need to see in the world."

Uchenna Sandra Nwankwo is a Nigerian of Igbo descent. While growing up in a small city in America, she found it necessary to maintain awareness of her culture and values, in addition to the lessons her parents instilled in her at a young age. She became involved in the ASA at Purdue University Calumet during the time she spent there, during which she was elected President. As Sandra begins her graduate studies in Integrated Marketing Communications and Management, she plans on committing herself, wholeheartedly, to seeing that the National ASA accomplishes its goals and exceeds its expectations. In addition, she look forward to working with the many individuals who will also play a major role in utilizing their skills and abilities to see that the National ASA remains at the forefront. Upon completion of her graduate studies, Sandra plans on working in her chosen field and eventually becoming a successful entrepreneur. The dreams that she has for herself and for the National ASA will be manifested in the United States and in Africa.
